The Russian Federation is interested in discrediting and delaying the peace negotiations in the ‘Normandy format’. Ukraine’s Deputy Speaker and the envoy of this country in the Minsk talks group Iryna Gerashchenko said this on air of 112 Ukraine TV channel.

‘Russia intends to discredit the Normandy talks and put them on hold; because when it’s on hold, one doesn’t need to comply with anything.  Ukraine should be thankful to our strategic partners who said that the sanctions will remain in place until Minsk agreements are complied with. Besides, leader of the presidential race in France (Emmanuel Macron, - 112 International) said that France insists on completion of Minsk agreements by the Russian Federation,' she said.

Earlier, Dmitry Peskov, the Russian presidential speaker said that the Normandy talks will not be resumed until presidential elections in France are over.
