The efforts of the Ukrainian side to ease hostilities and decrease the number of attacks on civilian objects are ignored by the Russian monitors from the Joint Control and Coordination Centre. Ukrainian ambassador in the UN Volodymyr Yelchenko said this as quoted by Ukrinform news agency.

The Ukrainian members sent their Russian counterparts 45 requests to put pressure on the Russia-backed militants, so that they would at least stop firing on civilian objects. No response followed, the diplomat said; he also added that the Ukrainian side tried to call the session of the Minsk Trilateral Group on this issue, but Russia insisted there is no need for that.

On February 2, UN Security Council will hold their session on the developments in Donbas.
