The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine is disappointed with another Russian block of the decision on the extension of the mandate of the OSCE SMM in Donbas at two Russian checkpoints 'Hukovo' and 'Donetsk' across all Russia-Ukraine border that is temporarily uncontrolled by Ukraine. It is claimed at the statement of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry published on January 26.
'The discussion during the 1173rd session of the OSCE Permanent Council where the mentioned decision was made showed the isolation of Russia in the unwillingness to provide the efficient international control at the border', the message said.
The Foreign Ministry is sure that such actions show the intentions of Kremlin to continue the supply of the heavy arms, military equipment, regular troops, mercenaries and support of the terrorist activity in the territory of Ukraine.
'We urge Russia to the rigorous fulfillment of the taken commitments within the Minsk Agreements, particularly the point 4of the Minsk Protocol as at September 5, 2014 on the establishment of the control and permanent monitoring by the OSCE over the temporarily uncontrolled part of the Russia-Ukraine border and creation of the safety zone across the border from the Russian side that is critically important for the de-escalation of the situation and peaceful settlement of the Donbas Conflict', the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry emphasized.
The OSCE SMM works in Ukraine since July 29, 2014. Last time the mandate of the OSCE was extended up to January 31, 2018.
