The statement of the Ukrainian authorities regarding Donbas’ return on its own terms testifies to the actual termination of the Minsk agreements. This was stated by Russia's envoy to the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) on Donbas Boris Gryzlov, RIA Novosti reports.

He drew attention to a statement published on the website of the President of Ukraine: "The main goal of our delegation, as well as the entire state, is to return all the temporarily occupied territories exclusively on Ukrainian terms."

According to Gryzlov, this is not only fundamentally contrary to the basic idea of the Minsk agreements, but it is also "legally insignificant."

"Of course, such a position is legally insignificant, but the political consequences are catastrophic. Kyiv must return to the implementation of the Minsk agreements," he added.

As we reported earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky believes that Russia should make key steps for the realization of peace in the east of Ukraine.

“Ukraine is interested in peace the most because the war is in our territory. But on the way to peace, two sides should move and the key steps should be made by Russia that controls occupied territories of Ukraine,” the president said.
