A multi-role reconnaissance ship of the Royal Navy, HMS Echo entered Odesa port in the frameworks of bilateral cooperation, the press-service of Ukrainian Naval Forces reports.
“Today, on May 6, ECHO hydrographic survey Royal Navy vessel entered Odesa Sea Port in the frameworks of bilateral cooperation,” reads the message.
A meeting of the commander of Ukrainian Naval Forces of Ukraine’s Armed Forces with the Commander of the ECHO is scheduled. The meeting shall take place on board of the foreign vessel.
A friendly rugby match is also scheduled between the teams of Ukrainian Naval Forces and the ship crew of Britain’s ECHO.
The vessel port visit shall last until May 9.
A month earlier, FFH333 Toronto frigate of the Royal Canadian Navy and F81 Santa Maria frigate of the Spanish Navy entered Odesa Sea Port. Toronto and Santa Maria entered the Black Sea region as a part of the detachment of ships under the command of the flagship of F805 Evertsen frigate of the Royal Netherlands Navy and Turkish F493 Gelibolu frigate which will stay in other ports of the countries of the Black Sea region.
Two frigates are patrolling in the Mediterranean Sea as a part of Standing NATO Maritime Group 2 (SNMG2), they entered Odesa port for three days.
