The release of five Ukrainian prisoners who captured in occupied Donbas fell down. Iryna Gerashchenko, the representative of Ukraine in the humanitarian subgroup of the Trilateral Contact Group reported this on Facebook.

‘Unfortunately, there is no progress and move in the issue on the release of the hostages in occupied Donbas, they are not given back to us. The process is blocked. The release of five Ukrainians from occupied Donbas fell down, however, it should take place’, she reported.

At the same time, there is good news. The return of two prisoners detained in Russia is expected on March 2.

Taking about hostages in occupied Donbas, Ukraine still hoped for their return. The Ukrainian representatives continue to hold the negotiations, however, they take place extremely difficult and they are blocked by all means as Gerashchenko emphasized.

Moreover, she mentioned the negotiations on the return of the property of the hostages that was stolen or confiscated by the militants during the captivity.
