Putin's decree on the recognition of LNR-DNR passports may negatively affect the process of the liberation of hostages. This was stated by the representative of Ukraine in the humanitarian subgroup of the Trilateral contact group Iryna Herashchenko.

"Also, the Ukrainian side has acutely raised the issue of non-compliance of Putin's decree on the recognition of ORDLO documents with Minsk agreements. I drew the attention of the OSCE to that it can also affect the release of the hostages (there is a big risk that some of the hostages may be announced ORDLO citizens), she wrote on Facebook.

Earlier it was reported that the recognition documents issued by the authorities of self-proclaimed LNR and DNR by the Russian Federation would not help to resolve the conflict in Donbas.
