The International Committee of the Red Cross sent 255 tons of humanitarian aid to the occupied areas of eastern Ukraine. The press office of Ukraine's State Border Guard reported that on Friday.

'12 vans from the ICRC and eight vans from the UN passed Novotroitske checkpoint and on to the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine. All transport vehicles carried a wide variety of supplies for the residents of Donetsk region: food and hygiene supplies, office supplies, construction materials, a heat convector, medical supplies, and the winter set for households, with the total weight of 255 tons', the message says.

Currently, all entry-exit checkpoints on the contact line in the Joint Forces Operation area work as scheduled. On December 6, 4,300 vehicles and almost 35,000 people crossed them.

The previous batch of supplies sent to Donbas made 380 tons in total.
