The International Committee of the Red Cross has sent 216 tons of humanitarian aid for those staying in the militant-controlled territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. Ukraine’s State Border Guard Service reported this on Wednesday.

‘The 12 ICRC trucks followed through the Novotroitske checkpoint. They carried food, medications and hygiene kits – totally 216 tons – for the locals of Donetsk region,’ the message at the authority’s website says.

The previous ICRC convoy was sent to Donbas last month; it carried 190 tons of humanitarian supplies.

Russia-backed rebels have been preventing Red Cross mission’s employees from working at the occupied territories of Donbas.
