Pussy Riot members Maria Alekhina and Olga Borisova were detained in Yakutsk the next day after the demonstration they held near the penitentiary colony in support of the Ukrainian film director Oleg Sentsov. Alekhina told this to Mediazone agency.
Alekhina and Borisova were taken to the police department on suspicion of committing an administrative offense - conducting an unauthorized demonstration.
Pussy Riot held a demonstration on the bridge across Saisary lake in Yakutsk near the colony where Oleg Sentsov is detained on Sunday, unfolding a large poster reading “Free Sentsov.”
"The cases of Sentsov and Kolchenko are ones of the key political cases in the history of our country," Alekhina explained.
As it was reported earlier Russia refused to repatriate Ukrainians Oleg Sentsov and Olexandr Kolchenko to Ukraine yet again pointing out that Sentsov and Kolchenko both have Russian citizenship, while Ukraine and Russia never signed any document to regulate the double citizenship issue.
