Pro-Russian militants shell Vodiane, Donetsk region; pensioner suffered

A 71-year-old local citizen received a shrapnel wound of back

A local citizen suffered in the result of the shelling of the village by pro-Russian militants in Donetsk region as the press service of the local police reported.

According to the information, the militants shelled Vodiane village, Volnovakha region yesterday at 18:00. Soon after this, the 71-year-old local citizen appealed to the police and reported that his house was damaged after the attack as the shrapnel affected the roof and walls. At the moment of the attack, he was inside the house and received a shrapnel wound of the back.

However, the pensioner refused from the medical service.

The law enforcers specified that Vodiane is in a few hundred meters from the militants’ positions. Due to the constant attacks, almost all citizens evacuated – only nine houses are residential at the moment.

The shelling was qualified as the terrorist act by the local police department.

As we reported since Tuesday morning, pro-Kremlin mercenaries attacked Ukrainian positions in Donbas 32 times. One Ukrainian soldier deceased in combat over the mentioned period; another two soldiers sustained injuries, their lives are beyond danger.

Over the said period, the Ukrainian forces also inflicted casualties on the enemy troops; five men deceased, while another four were wounded. A hostile APC was destroyed, too.
