Igor Myltsev, who called himself ‘callsign French’, serving with the pro-Kremlin militants in Donbas, gave interview to the ‘Novaya gazeta’ newspaper, where he disclosed details of yesterday’s murder of DPR militant Givi. As 112 International reported, the leader of ‘Somalia’, the illegal armed unit fighting against the Ukrainian troops in Donbas, was killed on February 8 in his office in Donetsk.

‘Anyone would like to have revenge on him,’ Myltsev said. According to him, he’s one of the four ‘Somalia’ fighters who were behind Givi’s murder.

He also refuted the statement by the occupant authorities of the self-styled Donetsk People’s Republic, in which the ‘officials’ said that the murder was organized and committed by Ukraine’s state security service, the SBU.

The man says ‘Somalia’ fighters had their revenge on their commander who left them for dead on the battlefield during the fight, which took place near Avdiivka, Donetsk region, in late January.

‘He feared for his life; so he silently withdrew from our positions and shot himself in the leg. He thought no one would notice that, but we did. Later, when he was already at the hospital, he ordered to shell our positions, because he really thought we all were dead by then. But we were there, and our own artillery fired on us,’ Myltsev said.

Since the beginning of the Russian aggression in eastern Ukraine Givi led the armed unit ‘Somalia’, which fought on the side of pro-Kremlin militants. In particular, he was among the separatists who mocked and tortured the Ukrainian defenders of Donetsk airport, some of which were forced to surrender and thus became POWs.
