The forthcoming presidential elections in the Russian Federation, scheduled for 2018, are the argument to increase Ukraine’s battle readiness. Poroshenko announced that in his speech at the strategic assembly of the key personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“Zero-option presidential elections in Russia, to be held next year, are an additional argument to increase the combat readiness of the Armed Forces in Ukraine even now. It’s clear that the play of muscles is the main voting technology. Unfortunately Russia’s hostile policy towards Ukraine and the rest of the world is receiving support from Russian voters. That's just what people did say “the people and the party are indivisible”. Russia will try to execute their imperial plans continuing their hybrid war and full-scale offensive with massive employment of military force in all directions,” he noted.
