Political points of the Minsk agreements can be implemented only after the obvious and indisputable progress of their performance in terms of security. This was stated by President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko during a working visit to Ivano-Frankivsk region, the press service of the Administration of the President reports.
"The elections under gun points of Russian troops around polling stations are completely unacceptable and impossible", stressed Poroshenko during his speech.
The President stressed that this position is shared by the partners of Ukraine, as they stated during "spontaneous discussions that occurred in recent days". The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin will go to the foreign ministers meeting of the Normandy format next week, said Petro Poroshenko.
The Head of State once again stressed that Ukraine adhered to and will follow the Minsk agreements and will do their utmost to de-escalate the situation to a complete ceasefire. "There is absolutely no alternative on the road to peace and the restoration of the territorial integrity", he said.
