Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko claimed the realness of full-scale aggression by the Russian Federation (against Ukraine, - ed.) and named the preparation stages. The President said that in his speech at the strategic meeting with the key personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, broadcasted by 112 Ukraine TV channel.
“A threat of a full-scale war is not a declaration. It is real, especially in the light of current enemy’s military preparations. The preparations are being held at Ukraine’s border in Smolensk, Voronezh, Belgorod, Rostov regions and on the territory of the annexed Crimea,” Poroshenko noted.
The President underlined that Russia is deploying new military forces, ramping up its potential for possible invasion.
“The enemy continues forming up Zapad joint strategic command within two general troops armies, a tank army, army corps, military air forces and air defense forces on the Western strategic destination. On the South-Western strategic destination, the 8th general troops army exercised direct control over two army corps of the Russian Federation, deployed on the territory of the temporarily occupied Donetsk and Luhansk regions. The unprecedented militarization goes in the Black Sea region. A powerful combined forces, which include ground-based, air-based and sea-based component, with 30 000 of total manpower. Missile establishments equipped with Iskander tactical missile systems are being formed and deployed,” Poroshenko said.
At that Poroshenko added that Russia’s appetites move far beyond Ukraine.
“Russia’s hybrid war is aimed to fundamentally change the political landscape of entire Europe, sometimes the plans go to global changes,” he said.
