Political prisoner Crimean Tatar Edem Bekirov, who was detained in the occupied Crimea is in the prison hospital now. Emil Kurbedinov, the lawyer reported that on Facebook.
“I have visited Edem Bekirov in the Simferopol prison today! Now he is transferred to the medical unit of the prison. Many think that this is a hospital. No. Just the cell, but a little bigger [than the ordinary one]... you can see medical workers more often and the food is a little better”, - the lawyer said.
According to Kurbedinov, Bekirov does not get all the necessary monthly medical procedures, which he needs for his heart disease. Besides, he still needs the medicine.
“He needs medical support under the supervision of doctors. They did not give him the results of the ultrasound and other medical papers that were made after the arrest. And those medical certificates that he received in the prison do not contain the objective results or the real diagnosis! Every day causes irreparable harm to his health, which is a risk for his life!” – the lawyer added.
