Ukraine's police detain "Luhansk People's Republic" fighter in Luhansk region

Law enforcers detained a militant of an illegal armed formation "Luhansk People's Republic" (LPR), as Ukraine’s National Police reports.

“As a 36-year-old Luhansk resident put it, in 2016 he agreed to his friend’s offer, signed a contract with a militants’ unit, and was trained on a training base located on the territory of a former military lyceum in Luhansk,” the law enforcers stated.

For now, the detainee is under investigation.

Earlier, Horlivka resident who participated in the combat actions in Eastern Ukraine on the side of the illegal armed formations was detained at Marinka checkpoint

As it was defined, the detained joined the illegal armed formations in 2015, before he reached 16. After military training, he has been serving on a checkpoint between Horlivka and Donetsk till 2018.

Ukrainian border guards have detained 154 militants in 2018.
