Plan of peaceful settlement of Donbas Conflict prepared by Ukraine and Western partners is ready but it should be approved by Russia. Ukrinform reported that, citing Head of the President’s Office Andriy Yermak.
“Today, there is a particular plan of peaceful settlement offered by German and France, developed by Ukraine and it corresponds to the spirit of Minsk Agreements, the norms of the international law…I underline, the peace plan is here…and we expect the same position from the Russian side,” Yermak said.
According to him, the issue is about a 'very powerful step’ offered by Germany and France. Yermak hopes that the document will be discussed in a week or two, during the video-conference in Normandy Format. This plan supposes the creation of the so-called clusters that can become the basis for the reintegration of occupied territories and the holding of local elections.
Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelensky announced the preparation of the Normandy Format meeting. However, in case it does not take place, the leader of the state will find another format of the talks with each side.
Previously, Foreign Minister of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba stated that a summit of the Normandy Four (Ukraine, Germany, France, Russia) is needed to achieve progress in resolving the war in Donbas.
