Since the beginning of the year, the State Emergency Service sappers seized and destroyed 42 389 explosive objects, including 734 air bombs. This was reported by the press center of the department.
It is noted that over the past day, pyrotechnic units made 47 trips during which 200 munitions were discovered, including one air bomb.
It is reported that on September 9 in the Chernihiv region, employees of the State Emergency Service destroyed two explosive objects. One of them is a 82 mm mine from the Second World War, which was found by a resident of the Spasska village. Another dangerous find the day before was noticed by mushroom pickers who went to a forest on the outskirts of the Storozhynets town. People discovered an object that looked like a shell, and reported this to the rescuers. After the examination, experts found that the object was a 76 mm artillery shell from the First World War. It was seized and destroyed.
In the same week, 3 artillery shells of 76 mm caliber and another one of 152 mm caliber were destroyed in the Chernihiv region. Explosive objects were discovered on September 5 in forests and in open areas near the villages of Khvylivka, Birino and Kikola Nezhinsky.
In addition, work on the clearance of Donetsk and Luhansk regions territory is ongoing.
