The OSCE SMM plans to set up four security cameras in the Donbas Conflict zone until the end of September. The press service of the Defense Ministry of Ukraine reported this.
‘The OSCE SMM plans to set up four new security cameras in the Donbas Conflict zone until the end of September at Gnutovo, Maiorsk, Mariinka checkpoints (Donetsk regions) and on Igor of Kyiv hill near Stanytsya Luhanska (occupied territory)’, the message said.
The setup of the additional surveillance equipment of OSCE SMM will provide the effective monitoring of the ceasefire regime and maintenance of the ceasefire regime in the conflict zone.
The Defense Ministry noted that OSCE SMM possesses seven security cameras on both sides of the engagement: Avdiivka, Shyrokyno (Donetsk region), Donetsk Filtration Station, areas of forces and equipment disengagement ‘Stanytsya Luhanska’ and ‘Zolote’ (Luhansk Region), Petrovske (occupied territory) and at the territory of Zhovtneva mine. The cameras at the Donetsk Filtration Station and Zhovtneva mine do not work at the moment because the pro-Russian militants destroyed them.
The militants shelled the patrol of the OSCE SMM during the attempt to set up the camera at the roof of the Donetsk Filtration Station. Finally, the militants succeed to destroy the camera. The observers spotted two places of the hit of the bullets at the protection tube of the security camera cable. According to them, the bullets came from 600-800 meters of the South-West direction and from the height of 10-12 meters above the ground.
The Head of the OSCE SMM condemned the destruction of the thermal imaging camera at the filtration station.
