The OSCE SMM spots the increase of the attacks in the zone of the armed Donbas Conflict and the escalation of the situation. Alexander Hug, the Principal Deputy Chief Monitor of the OSCE SMM to Ukraine claimed this at the Ukrainian Crisis Media Center.
According to Hug, the ceasefire regime was violated 6 500 times in the zone of Donbas Conflict during the last week.
'We spotted more than 6 500 violations of the ceasefire. It is 70% more than the previous report period', he claimed.
Moreover, the observers recorded 370 cases of the use of the forbidden weaponry since January 8 until January 14 while there were only six cases during the first week of the year.
'The number cannot show the things that take place there. The conflict does not settle down regardless the number of the violations that we spot. The violence became part of the local people's life', he added.
As we reported earlier the OSCE reported 135 explosions in the Donbas conflict zone from 19:30 on Jan. 16 to 19:30 on Jan. 17.
