The Special Monitoring Mission of the OSCE has to extend its mandate in Ukraine, specifically when it comes to the control of ceasefire regime in Donbas. Andriy Yermak, the Head of the President's Office of Ukraine said so during an online discussion on March 9. Interfax-Ukraine quoted him as saying.
"We believe the OSCE has to undertake more authority; we believe they should extend their mandate somehow, because currently, there is every condition for this [ceasefire] regime to be upheld", Yermak said.
According to the official, the "ceasefire regime" in eastern Ukraine set in summer 2020 saw the decrease of combat losses by several times.
At that, Yermak admitted that the number of provocations during the ceasefire has been increasing. The Head of the Office of the President said that over the last several months, Ukraine lost 11 warriors in combat. Dozens of soldiers were wounded.
