OSCE Coordinator in the humanitarian group at the Minsk talks Toni Frisch visited the Ukrainian hostages illegally kept in ORDO, as RIA News reported.

According to the information, he met with six Ukrainian soldiers in Donetsk remand prison without witnesses. He said that Matthias Kalush was with him.

“We openly shared our opinions, we talked to them. For the first time, I had an opportunity to confidentially talk to the detainees without any third parties. It happened first-ever,” Frisch stated.

OSCE Coordinator noted that this is a “big step”.

Earlier, Iryna Gerashchenko demanded OSCE visit the Ukrainian hostages, who are held by the militants. According to her, the issue became critical after they found out that the Ukrainian Lyudmyla Surzhenko, who was held by “LNR” militants, was tortured.
