OSCE records over 300 ceasefire violations in Donbas over the day

On January 16, the OSCE SMM recorded 326 violations of the ceasefire in Donbas. This is stated in the daily report published by the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine.

For example, in Donetsk region, the SMM recorded 175 ceasefire violations, including 96 explosions (5 of tank shells and 91 undetermined explosions). Most of the ceasefire violations took place north in the area of ​​Petrovske settlement, as well as in areas south of the Svitlodarsk settlement.

10 ceasefire violations, including 5 explosions of tank shells, in the area west of Sofiyivka and 5 explosions of uncertain origin in the area to the west of Yenakiyevo were assessed as being associated with live-fire exercises in the security zone, in violation of the decision to ban live-fire exercises adopted by the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) on 3 March 2016.

In the Luhansk region, the mission recorded 151 ceasefire violations, including 131 explosions of unknown origin. Most of the ceasefire violations took place near the area of ​​Stanytsia Luhanska.
