‘According to the mission, shelling from small arms was performed again in the direction of the SMM’s unmanned aerial vehicle. The mini-UAV flying in the vicinity of Zhovte settlement (uncontrolled by the government, 17 km north-west of Lugansk), the monitors heard 40 shelling from small arms on the distance of two kilometers in the north-west from their positions in the area where the UAV was flying,’ reads the message.
According to the assessment of the monitors, the fire was opened against the UAV. The drone wasn’t damaged and managed to land.
Earlier, on November 2, OSCE SMM drone disappeared during the flight over the occupied territories of Donetsk region. German and French foreign ministries considered Russia and pro-Kremlin militants to be responsible for the downing of the UAV. The statement of the German MFA reads that the flight of the UAV was hampered by radio-electronic interference, as the drone detected an anti-aircraft installation near the border right before the signal was lost.
