OSCE SMM cannot hold verification of the disengagement of forces near Stanytsia Luhanska as Hromadske reported citing Commander of HQ of Joint Forces Operation Major General Bogdan Bondar.

“OSCE SMM cannot hold verification and tell the sides that the withdrawal of the forces and means in Stanytsia Luhanska took place fully as it is defined by the framework agreements,” Bondar said.

He also noted that the Ukrainian military possess information that the militants moved away from the positions.

“But there are particular clauses, for example, not dismantled fortifications, which can be taken in 10 minutes or half of an hour and continue the attacks,” Major General explained.

According to him, the Ukrainian military started to ruin their fortifications.

“We demonstrated the goodwill. Including yesterday, when representative of the mission’s head Mark Etherington was present there. He personally saw that we continue to dismantle these fortifications,” Bondar said.

On June 26, it was reported that the first stage of the withdrawal of Ukrainian units under the supervision of the OSCE mission took place in the Stanytsia Luhanska.

Later it was reported that the disengagement of troops in Stanytsia Luhanska is an improvement of the Armed Forces in this section of the combat area.

On June 28, the OSCE SMM observers confirmed that the withdrawal of the troops took place near Stanytsia Luhanska, from both sides, Armed Forces of Ukraine and militants.
