Special monitoring mission of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE SMM) continues to fix the unacceptably high number of ceasefire violations in Donbas, 50% of which occur in the areas of Avdiivka, Yasynuvata and Donetsk airport. This was announced by the First Deputy Head of the Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) of the OSCE in Ukraine Alexander Hug during a briefing, "Interfax-Ukraine" informs.

"We continue to observe an unacceptably high number of ceasefire violations in known hot spots along the line of contact.  Approximately 50 percent of the violations were recorded by us in a triangle Avdiivka-Yasynuvata- Donetsk airport.  Other violations are fixed by the OSCE mission in the areas between Svitlodarsk and Debaltsevo, to the north east of Mariupol, west and north of Horlivka and the western part of Luhansk region,” he said.

Hug emphasized that these points are located in civilian areas, where civilians live. "The parties must begin to take measures which will help to protect civilians. The sides and the positions should be withdrawn from the line, which the civilian population moves and lives. And it is time for both parties to understand that weapons should not be located where civilian population is present,” he said.
