Ukrainian military strictly adhere to the ceasefire regime, while the opponent makes attacks with mortars and small arms and carries out armed provocations involving sabotage and reconnaissance groups. This was stated by Chief of General Staff - Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Viktor Muzhenko during a meeting with the First Deputy Head of the Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) of the OSCE in Ukraine Alexander Hug, according to the Defense Ministry's press service.
"Ukrainian Armed Forces welcome any political efforts aimed at real resolution of the conflict in eastern Ukraine and the removal of Russian occupation forces from Donbas. At the same time the withdrawal of troops and heavy weapons from the line of demarcation is only possible if sustainable cease-fire regime will be implemented.

It is noted that the sides discussed at the meeting the current situation in the areas of anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine, as well as ways to implement the agreement on the dilution of sides and removal of heavy weapons, as agreed by the participants of the Trilateral contact group during a meeting in Minsk on 21 September.
Earlier it was reported that the Deputy Chairman of the Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) of the OSCE in Ukraine Alexander Hug on 25-28 September plans to visit Donbas to assess the security situation.
