One Ukrainian soldier was killed, another two were injured due to the hostilities in the Ant-Terrorist Operation area in Donbas during the past 24 hours. This was announced by Defense Ministry Speaker on ATO Andriy Lysenko during the briefing in Ukraine crisis media center, reports 112.ua.
“One Ukrainian soldier was killed and another two were injured due to the hostilities during the past 24 hours,” he said.
According to Lysenko, hostilities in Luhansk area occurred in all directions but the situation was most tense in Popasna area.
“The enemy violated the ceasefire regime here 7 times using grenade launchers of different systems and small arms,” he noted.
At the same time, enemy sniper was shelling in Novozvanivka. Stanytsia Luhanska, Krymske and Troitske were also shelled by the militants.
“In total, the enemy violated ceasefire regime in Luhansk area 12 times during the past day and night,” Lysenko said.
“In Donetsk area, the militants continued to shell Ukrainian positions along the whole front line, except for the Donetsk airport,” he noted.
According to him, militants in all areas of hostilities used mortars.
“First of all this is true for Horlivka perimeter, where in Zaitseve, Mayorsk and Verkhnyotoretsk illegal armed forces after the nightfall fired more than 50 mines.”
“In Avdiivka the militants shelled continuously from light weapons and mortars. The ATO forces were shelling in response,” the message says.
At the same time, the main fighting in Mariupol area took place in Lebedynske. Here, according to the report, the militants conducted four attacks using heavy machine guns, mines and infantry fighting vehicles that lasted from 30 minutes to an hour each.
Also the militants shelled Krasnohorivka, Talakivka, Novotroitske and Shyrokyne.
"A total of 9 enemy attacks were recorded in Mariupol yesterday," he said.
As it was reported earlier 120 mm mines hit Troitske in Luhansk region. One Ukrainian fighter was killed in a sniper attack.
