Since Tuesday morning, Russian militants opened fire on Ukrainian positions in Donbas nine times. One of the Ukrainian defenders lost his life in action. The Joint Forces HQ reported this on early Wednesday.
In general, the combat action in war-torn eastern Ukraine has dropped a bit, but the enemy continues using Minsk-banned weaponry, namely 82 mm mortars. On most occasions, they used grenade launchers, heavy machine guns, and small arms.
Hostile troops opened fire in the areas of Stanytsia Luhanska, Avdiivka, Mariinka, Starohnativka, Pavlopil, Vodyane, and Hnutove. 82 mm mines hit the positions near Avdiivka.
The Ukrainian fighters returned fire, which resulted in the death of a Russian mercenary; another four were wounded.
Since Wednesday morning, the enemy attacked Taramchuk, using small arms and heavy machine guns.
