Russia-backed militants violated the ceasefire regime in Donbas conflict zone 38 times over the past 24 hours. In about half of the cases, the Ukrainian military suppressed the enemy's attacks from weapons not banned by Minsk agreement, Ukraine’s Amy HQ press center reported in Facebook.
"As a result of enemy shelling, four soldiers were injured and, unfortunately, Ukraine lost one defender," the headquarters report says.
In Luhansk area, with the nightfall, the enemy intensified attacks at Troitske and Luhanske. The enemy shelled from 120-mm mortars near these front-line villages. Occupants repeatedly shelled Ukrainian positions near Novooleksandrivka and Krymske from grenade launchers and small arms.
In Donetsk sector, in the evening the epicenter of confrontation moved from the Azov Sea to the Avdiivka vicinity. Here illegal armed forces repeatedly attacked from all available infantry weapons, and closer to midnight for more than an hour the enemy fired from the tank armament. The defenders of Verkhnyotoretske and Lebedynske were shelled from 82 mm caliber mortars, and in Talakivka and Marinka, - from grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms.
As it was reported earlier a civilian vehicle took damage due to the attack in Mayorsk, which lies in the combat area in Donetsk region. Pavlo Zhebrivsky, the head of Donetsk civil and military regional administration posted this on Facebook on Monday.
According to him, the bullet, fired from the direction of a local mine occupied by Russian mercenaries, shattered the glass of the car's window. The driver who was parking his car near the garage suffered no injuries.
