As of January 4, over the past 24 hours, the Russian occupants attacked the Ukrainian positions three times. They did not use any of the Minsk-banned weapons, as the colonel and Spokesperson of Ukraine’s Defence Ministry Oleksandr Motuznyak said at the briefing.
The number of attacks decreased compared with that on January 3.
The occupants did not shoot at the Ukrainian positions in Donetsk sector, all the attacks were performed in Luhansk sector.
The Russian militants fired at the Ukrainian defence works near Khutir Vilny. They started shooting in this direction at 2.40 pm. The occupants attacked from Zolote-5 settlement, using grenades of various kinds.
Another attack was performed at 8.55 pm. This time, the occupants used automatic grenades, small arms and heavy machine guns.
From 11.25 to 11.50 p.m. the militants were firing at the positions of the Armed Forces near Zaitseve. They used all kinds of infantry weapons, including automatic grenade launchers.
As a result, one Ukrainian soldier got injured.
Ukrainian troops reacted to the attacks; two occupants were eliminated.
Today, the occupants have not opened fire yet.
According to the Main Intelligence Department of the Defence Ministry, the Russian occupation command is trying to reinforce influence over the leadership of the local enterprises in Luhansk and Donetsk regions by calling up to the so-called reservists' gatherings. At the same time, they are sent to the units with the worst conditions of deployment and conduction of training with the personnel. This way the occupants want to get funded at the expense of the enterprises.
In exchange for good conditions, the occupants demand the leaders of the enterprises to facilitate the work at the local military enlistment office and help in call-in of the employer of the enterprise who refuse to fight in Russian occupation troops.
