Occupied Luhansk wants to pass 44 prisoners to Ukraine

The so-called “Luhansk People’s Republic” plans to pass the prisoners of Sukhodilsk penal colony convicted in 2014 to Ukraine as TASS reported.

It became known during the visit of the prisoners by Toni Frisch, the OSCE Coordinator of the humanitarian subgroup of the Trilateral Contact Group.

“The decision on 44 prisoners was made on the readiness to pass them to the territory controlled by Ukraine,” the message said.

On August 16, Iryna Gerashchenko stated that Petro Poroshenko, the President of Ukraine, was ready to pardon the Russians kept in Ukraine in exchange for the Ukrainians kept in Russian Federation.

Reportedly, Lyudmyla Denisova, Ukraine’s Ombudsman, stated that 22 convicted Russians wrote Putin appeals with a request to exchange them for the Ukrainians political prisoners.
