The prisoners’ exchange between Kyiv and the so-called Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) is possible only after the agreement of the road map on implementation of Minsk Agreements by the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) as Strana reported citing DPR official Darya Morozova.
“Our opponents are well aware that the negotiation process remains blocked due to their fault; in the result of which, the holding of exchange of prisoners, progress in other direction at Minsk format are impossible. To renew the dialogue and reach the constructive proposals, the sides of the conflict should agree the document that contains the mechanisms of unblocking the talks and confirmation of commitment to Minsk Agreements,” Morozova stated.
According to her, the progress in talks is possible only after the provision of the road map by Kyiv and it should be agreed by the TCG and approved by the Ukrainian parliament. Moreover, it is necessary to stop the criminal prosecution of earlier released people.
Earlier, Speaker of the Ukrainian delegation in the Trilateral Contact Group Oleksiy Arestovych said that the exchange of prisoners between Ukraine and Russia could take place before the end of the year.
