Number of static checkpoints in Donbas to be reduced

The number of the static checkpoints in Donetsk, Luhansk regions will be reduced and the remaining checkpoints will be reequipped. Kostyantyn Bushuyev, the Deputy Head of the National Police claimed this as the press service of the police reported.

'The number of the static checkpoints at the east of Ukraine will be reduced. At the same time, 106 additional patrols will be created. It will allow to increase the police presence in the remote towns and villages', the message said.

It is noted that there will be 68 foot and 38 vehicle patrols serving in the safety zone. They will perform military and civil tasks.

The police added that 109, 000 vehicles and half of a million of the citizens were checked at the checkpoints in Donetsk region. 187 crimes were spotted during the control, 53 confiscations of the illegal weapons and ammunitions were recorded, 38 partakers of the illegal armed formations were brought to the responsibility.
