Normandy four agreed on Red Cross access to prisoners in Donbas

The parties also agreed to implement the agreement of Tripartite Group in Minsk on silence mode and withdrawal of heavy weapons

The Foreign Ministers of the four Normandy format countries agreed on providing access of International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) members to the prisoners held now in Donbas territory. This was stated by the head of the German Foreign Ministry, Sigmar Gabriel, after the ministers' meeting, reports Interfax-Ukraine.

"We agreed that the Red Cross will have access to the prisoners," he said.

Also Gabriel informed that all the parties have agreed to implement the agreement of the Tripartite Group in Minsk on silence mode, withdrawal of heavy weapons and the possibility for the OSCE mission to monitor the withdrawal.

Previously, it was noted that after the talks in Minsk, humanitarian subgroup of the Trilateral contact group on the Donbas situation settlement decided to appeal to United Nations Human Rights monitoring mission and ask for help in verification of refusal citizens from travel to the territory of Donetsk and Luhansk regions in accordance with  hostage exchange process.
