Kremlin does not expect results from the meeting of Kurt Volker, the US Special Representative to Ukraine and Vladislav Surkov, the Affiliate of Russian President. Dmitry Peskov, the spokesperson of the President of Russia claimed this as RIA News reported.
'You know that the agenda is free enough: it is the time check and exchange of the opinion on the current issues, hung issues on the situation at south-east of Ukraine. In fact, it is unlikely to expect some results from this meeting and possibly there is even no need for this. It is the time check, the working process', Peskov claimed.
As we reported US Special Envoy to Ukraine arrived in Ukraine on January 23, however his visit to Donbas turned out to be under the threat due to the weather conditions.Volker also met Viktor Muzhenko, the Chief of the General Staff of Ukraine and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Vadym Chernysh, the Minister for Occupied Territories and IDPs of Ukraine and Oleksandr Turchynov, the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council. The sides discussed the current situation in Donbas.
Volker will meet Vladislav Surkov, the Affiliate of the Russian President on January 26 in Dubai. They will discuss the current state of the Donbas Conflict, the perspectives and the possible format of the deployment of the UN peacekeeping mission.
