The Minsk negotiation process stalls in terms of discussions about the hostages' release in Donbas. This is largely due to the position of the Russian side and representatives of pro-Kremlin mercenaries in Donbas. Iryna Gerashchenko, the deputy speaker of the Ukrainian parliament posted this on Facebook

'The POW (Prisoners of War) release was the key topic of the humanitarian group where the members of State Security Service and the Ministry of Temporarily Occupied Territories worked today (October 16, - 112 International). Moscow does not recognize there are Russian citizens in Ukrainian prisons; representatives of pro-Kremlin mercenaries in Donbas takes a destructive position,' Gerashchenko wrote.

According to her, the Ukrainian side has once again raised the issue of teenagers illegally detained by the militants in occupied Donetsk in early 2016. 'They promised the OSCE to release the children...until December 2016, and then, they sentenced them to imprisonment - for 'espionage.' We expect the OSCE to take a togher stance regarding the issue of children and teenagers,' the official posted.
