Despite the tough humanitarian and security conditions in the area of Avdiivka, Donetsk region, the administration of president Poroshenko does not consider implementation of martial law there. Kostyantyn Yeliseev, the administration’s deputy head said this at a briefing in Kyiv on February 3.

‘Currently, we don’t even consider that option. There’s the National Security and Defense Council, and it’s up to them to decide,’ the official said, asnwering the reporter's question.

Earlier at the briefing, Yeliseev said the UN Security Council would release a statement on the current humanitarian and security situation in Donbas – as initiated by Ukraine, which now presides in the Council. ‘Based on the result of the debates held yesterday, at the UN Security Council’s extraordinary session, our delegation is now working hard on the statement to sum up the talks’, he said.
