Ukraine is not going to lead any direct negotiations with the self-styled 'republics' in Donbas or facilitate the legitimization of Kremlin's puppet regimes. Iryna Gerashchenko, the representative of Ukraine in Minsk trilateral contact group posted that on Facebook.
'All these so-called 'authoritative bodies of the republics are illegitimate and non-recognized, even in the Russian Federation. This is why the statements of their so-called 'representatives', whatever their names are, are just the nonsense of the Kremlin. We will discuss the liberation of Donbas with the Kremlin, enjoying the mediation of our international partners - not with the Kremlin's puppets', Gerashchenko wrote.
She added that the dialogue will take place exclusively in the Minsk format, which means the trilateral shape of Ukraine, Russia and the OSCE.
'Russia is not a mediator, but the full-fledged side, responsible for living up to Minsk agreements and all of the provisions related to security, economic and humanitarian blocs. There are signatures of Ukraine, Russia and the OSCE under these deals. Minsk agreements do not contain a single reference to these abbreviations', the official added.
Previously, the leaders of the self-proclaimed 'Donetsk People's Republic' (DNR) stated they were ready to negotiate with Ukraine 'for reaching peace in Donbas'.
