‘I’m sure the current conditions (offered by Russia, -112 International) are unacceptable. They are trying to deceive Ukraine’s political leadership to make the entire situation look foolishly. The solution of this Russia-orchestrated conflict is not on the agenda of Putin and his team. That’s why, despite all the mimicry regarding the elections and the peace talks… whatever we do, I’m sure that under the current regime we won’t be able to solve the problem of control over our eastern border’. Viktor Yushchenko, the third President of Ukraine, said this in his commentary to 112 Ukraine TV channel on Thursday.
Earlier today, Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak said that not a single artillery attack was reported since midnight September 1.
The ceasefire regime is the result of most recent talks in the Minsk Trilateral Contact Group. The decision enjoyed full support of German and French leaders. President Poroshenko added that the negotiators are looking forward to his Russian counterpart Putin’s decision now.
