On August 16, Russian mercenaries did not violate the ceasefire regime in Donbas combat area. Ukraine's Defense Ministry did not observe any losses among the Joint Forces staff.

"The situation in Joint Forces area remains under control. Ukrainian defenders continue to live up to designated tasks, ready to respond to any changes in the operative background. No enemy attacks were observed in any of the sectors on August 16", reads the message on the Facebook page.

At the same time, the staff admitted that the occupants performed engineering works in the area of Uzhivka.

Earlier, Ukraine's State Security Service reported that 235 Ukrainians are illegally detained in the temporarily occupied territories in Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

"According to the information of the Joint Center, 235 people are listed as illegally deprived of their freedom in the temporarily occupied territories in Donetsk and Luhansk regions," the message says.

At the same time, the SBU added that "the issue of the release of Ukrainian citizens who were unlawfully deprived of their liberty by law enforcement and judicial bodies of the Russian Federation is brought up to the level of international contacts and resolved with the participation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine."
