The talks on the exchange of prisoners between Ukraine and the self-styled 'republics' of Donbas are going on. Viktor Medvedchuk, the MP and the Chairman of the Political Council of The Opposition Platform - For Life party said so while speaking to journalists in the Parliament.

"You know, this process that concerns the exchange and the talks about the exchange continues. I wrote the media reports, I spoke with the representatives who participate in the negotiation process on the mutual release - in Donetsk and Luhansk, and in Kyiv, too", he said.

The politician added that there are certain issues, but they can be solved if the government exerts enough political will.

"I have repeatedly pointed it out; this big exchange can be conducted over 5-7 days, when hundreds of people will be released on both sides, I mean, in Donetsk and Luhansk, and Kyiv. That is, again, one needs a political will; one has to live up to all these formal things, which each of the sides demands. As I'm perfectly aware of this process, I'd say it is possible to do this within a matter of several days", he said.
