Mother of Viktor Ageev denies her son’s resignation from Russia’s Armed Forces

Ageev’s mother stated her song is still on a military service at the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and obtained a lance-corporal rank last May

Mother of Viktor Ageev, detained in Luhansk region, states that her son still remains on active military duty of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and obtained a lance-corporal rank Novaya Gazeta reports.

The outlet published the application by Boris Vishnevsky, the member of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, citing the announcement of Ageev’s mother. In this application the MP states that Ageev Ageev served a contract military service after a one-year military conscription and departed to serve in the military unit in the city of Bataysk, Rostov region, on March 18, 2017. He used to call his mother once a week, and on May 5 sent her the copy of the order on awarding him a lance-corporal rank on May 4.

Viktor was talking to his mother on May 30 2017 last time, and according to her he never spoke of his intentions to break the contract.

Mother of Ageev approached the regional military commissariat requiring the explanations about her son, but didn’t get those.

As we reported earlier, Ukrainian military officers neutralized reconnaissance and sabotage enemy group in Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) zone.  Four militants were apprehended as a result, two more — commander and one of the saboteurs, who were strongly resisting, have been eliminated. Among those captured was Viktor Ageev, who drafted in Altai Krai and served under a contract after that.

Russia’s Defense Ministry reported that Viktor Ageev has never served a contract service in Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
