The negotiations within Minsk talks group will carry on even if there's no consent on political steps that need to be done. Anka Feldhusen, the German Ambassador in Ukraine said so as quoted by Interfax-Ukraine news agency.
"Minsk will continue even without a political solution. It is a practical and comfortable playground so that everyone could communicate", Feldhusen said.
The ambassador expressed confidence that steps can be taken within Minsk group so as to improve the quality of people's lives. "For one, the issue of simplification of division line crossing procedure may be discussed; it can be done within "Minsk" - small things for people", she explained.
The diplomat added that Minsk agreements were developed duing the hot phase of military actions. "It was the half-way house that could be reached then. Of course, there are currently different conditions than he ones we had then. But Minsk agreements is a structure that might help find the solution to the conflict. I believe in that just like my colleagues do", Feldhusen said.
The German official also noted that a lot depends on Russian leadership's will when it comes to a solution to the conflict.
