Minsk talks parties to discuss POW release and fights on Svitlodarsk bulge

Parties to the Minsk trilateral contact group will gather today, December 21, for another round of negotiations on solution of the Donbas conflict. The officials will talk through the release of prisoners of war, opening of Zolote checkpoint in Luhansk region, as well as the ongoing fights in the area of Svitlodarsk bulge in Donetsk region.

‘First, the four subgroups will hold their sessions, and then, OSCE’s Martin Sajdik will be leading the main round of negotiations at about 14.00 (13.00 Kyiv time). The issue of exchange will be solved today; 228 militants are to be exchanged for 58 Ukrainian POWs,’ 112 Ukraine’s correspondent said.

The Ukrainian delegation will be headed by former president Leonid Kuchma.
