The Belarusian capital city hosts another regular session of the Minsk negotiation group, which seeks peaceful ways of solving Donbas conflict. Daria Olifer, the press secretary of Leonid Kuchma, Ukraine’s ex-president and the current envoy in the group, posted that on Facebook.
According to Yevhen Marchuk, head of the Ukrainian delegation in the security subgroup, the parties today are mainly focused on the statement about the ‘creation of Malorossiya’, previously announced by leader of the self-styled Donetsk People’s Republic Aleksandr Zakharchenko. That evoked huge criticism by the Ukrainian government and many foreign cabinets, specifically in the U.S., France and Germany.
A 112 Ukraine TV channel’s reporter added that the security subdivision discussed creation of new safety zones, while the humanitarian subgroup talked through exchanging POWs.
