The pro-Russian militants of the so-called Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) again wrecked the opening of 'Zolote' checkpoint in Luhansk region as the correspondent of 112 Ukraine reported.
He noted that the Ukrainian border guards took their stands at the checkpoint but the signal about the readiness to pass people did not come from the illegal military formations.
'According to the unofficial information, it occurred due to the technical problems and poor status of the asphalt covering. Whether they will be ready to open the corridor via the demarcation line in the near future or not is still unknown', the correspondent said.
The information resources of the militants confirmed that the opening of the checkpoint did not take place on October 20.
It was agreed to open 'Zolote' checkpoint in the results of the last meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group in Minsk. It is another attempt to open the checkpoint in the last years and all of them were blocked by LPR. Only one checkpoint for the passersby works in the region in Stanytsia Luhanska. It is possible to officially cross the border by car only Donetsk region.
