Militants in Donbas violated the “silence regime” five times on December 24. They used weapons of forbidden calibers. Joint Forces Operation press service reports this.

Militants fired at Ukrainian positions from 82-mm mortars and grenade machine guns near Vodyane and from grenade machine guns and small arms near Shumy.

“Ukrainian servicemen adequately responded to the numerous shelling of the Russian occupation forces. Ukrainian soldiers continue to control the situation in the area of the Joint Forces Operation,” the message says.

One Ukrainian soldier received a gunshot wound as a result of enemy shelling and was hospitalized.

During the past 24 hours, Ukrainian sappers cleared almost 5 hectares of land and handed over 126 explosive items for destruction.

Earlier, Ukrainian military man blew up on an explosive device in Donbas. The Ukrainian fighter was provided with medical aid; he was promptly hospitalized.
