Militants violate ceasefire regime in Donbas four times

During the current day, January 2, the Russian occupation forces violated the ceasefire regime four times in the hostilities zone in Donbas, reports the press office of the Joint Forces Operation zone on Facebook. 

The strongholds of our forces were shelled from grenade launchers of different systems, heavy machine guns and small arms in the area of Vilny farmstead, Opytne and Vodiane. Besides, the enemy sniper was noticed near Pesky settlement.

‘As a result of the shelling of the Russian occupation forces, none of the servicemen from the Joint Forces Operation injured. In response to the provocations of the enemy, the JFO units used duty fire means,’ the HQ reported. 

The situation in the combat area remains controlled by the Ukrainian military. 

Yesterday, January 1, one Ukrainian soldier died, two sustained injuries in eastern Ukraine.
